Facts about Øresundsbron

Øresundsbron has linked Denmark and Sweden since its inauguration on July 1, 2000.

With a combined road and rail bridge over the strait, the Øresund Region enjoys a year-round, 24/7 flow of life and activity. Similarities and differences on either side of the bridge drive new opportunities and experiences across borders—and vice versa.

The Øresund Link consists of approximately 8 kilometers of bridge, 4 kilometers of tunnel, and a 4-kilometer artificial island—a total of 15.9 kilometers connecting people to experiences, jobs, businesses, education, and culture. It forms part of the everyday lives of thousands on both sides of the Øresund.
