Track work on the Øresund Bridge 27 May-9 June
3,500 metres of track will be replaced on the Øresund Bridge. Since its inauguration almost 25 years ago, 1.6 million passenger and freight trains - totalling 620 million gross tonnes - have crossed the Øresund Bridge. Now it's time to replace 3.5 kilometres of rails on one of the two tracks in the Øresund Tunnel.
Here's how train services are affected between 30 May and 9 June
Track work at night on 27-30 May in the Öresund tunnel. One of the tracks will be open to traffic, which means reduced capacity in train traffic at night.
Track work around the clock from 30 May to 9 June. One of the tracks will be open to traffic, which means reduced capacity in train traffic. Replacement traffic during rush hour.
Track work is ongoing around the clock to minimise disruption and return to normal train services as quickly as possible.
- Every year, we carry out several inspections to maintain a continued safe connection and identify maintenance needs. Our latest inspection shows that parts of the rails have reached their technical lifespan after 25 years of train traffic, which means that we are bringing forward this extensive maintenance work,’ says Niclas Malmström, Maintenance Manager at Øresundsbron.
- We are working around the clock to minimise disruption and carry out the track replacement as quickly as possible.
Øresundsbron apologises for the inconvenience and refers to the train operators, including skanetrafiken.se, for information on train times and replacement traffic.
How traffic will be affected during Broloppet 2025
Broloppet 2025 is one of the highlights of the 25th anniversary of the Øresund Bridge when 40,000 runners will run from Denmark to Sweden.
Øresundsbron advises against all unnecessary travel across the bridge between 06-17 on June 15. Train and road users are advised to travel at other times - and those who must drive to allow extra time for the journey across the bridge.

The Øresund Bridge is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. However, special situations may arise due to wind and weather, maintenance or accidents, where we work with the authorities to close the bridge to traffic.
On this page you can always see the traffic status, whether there is a queue at the toll station and if there are any special places on the connection where you need to pay extra attention due to roadworks etc. We will also inform you when there are any disruptions in train traffic over the connection.

Border control
The Swedish police perform border controls on the Øresund bridge towards Sweden and, in rare cases, towards Denmark. You must be able to show proof of identity.
