Railway Maintenance 18-19 July - Trains Replaced by Buses
The railway across Øresundsbron is being upgraded for future travel as, among other things, 800 metres of overhead line is replaced this weekend. The work will be carried out during a planned train stoppage from Saturday 18 July at 14:00 to Sunday 19 July at 14:00.
Motorway traffic is not affected and train services will be replaced by buses on a limited basis. The maintenance work is necessary to ensure continued reliable railway operations across Øresund. The train stoppage is kept as short as possible to minimise the impact on customers.

Two of Øresundsbron's largest expansion joints are being replaced simultaneously – a solution that shortens the total project time by a full year.
The work is planned to affect road traffic as little as possible, but for approximately eight weeks, accessibility across the bridge will be limited. Only one lane is open in each direction.

The Øresund Motorway is being extended
The Øresund Motorway will be expanded over the coming years to improve traffic flow, which is currently affected by significant congestion and queues during peak hours.
In April 2026, Sund & Bælt began the first stage of the project, consisting of an expansion with additional lanes between exit 20, Copenhagen C, and exit 17, Airport West.

The Øresund Bridge is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. However, special situations may arise due to wind and weather, maintenance or accidents, where we work with the authorities to close the bridge to traffic.
On this page you can always see the traffic status, whether there is a queue at the toll station and if there are any special places on the connection where you need to pay extra attention due to roadworks etc. We will also inform you when there are any disruptions in train traffic over the connection.
Skånetrafiken is in charge of train operations and you should contact them in case of train cancellations, delays etc.
Border Control
The authorities carry out border controls towards Sweden and in rare cases towards Denmark. Here you must be able to show identification.
