Emergency drill on Øresundsbron 1/10 at 8-11.15 PM
Thursday, October 1, 2026, it is time for the seventh emergency preparedness exercise since the inauguration in 2000.

Øresundsbron will be closed to motorway traffic in both directions on 1 October 2026 from 20:00–23:15 due to a full-scale emergency exercise. Øresund train services will run as normal.
Safety is the highest priority on the Øresund link, and Øresundsbro Konsortiet works continuously together with authorities and train operators to develop and strengthen emergency preparedness. Every four years, a full-scale emergency exercise is carried out involving multiple stakeholders from both Sweden and Denmark.
On Thursday, 1 October 2026, from 20:00 to 23:15, the seventh such exercise since the opening in 2000 will take place. The exercise is a central element of the cross-border emergency preparedness work on the fixed link.
The exercise aims to test cooperation and coordination between the many stakeholders involved in managing a major incident on the Øresund link. This includes collaboration at management level, organisation of response efforts, alert chains, and communication between Swedish and Danish systems.
We encourage motorway users to plan their journeys well in advance during the evening of 1 October.
Motorway traffic will be completely closed from 20:00–23:15 on 1 October. Follow the traffic situation at oresundsbron.com.
Train services will run as normal and can be used while the motorway is closed to traffic. Visit Rejseplanen or Skånetrafiken for more information.
We thank you for your patience and understanding during the exercise.
