The Bridge Run 2025

The Øresund Bridge’s 25th Anniversary
The Bridge Run was truly unique. Celebrating the Øresund Bridge’s 25th anniversary with a race where people got to experience the bridge on foot — literally running under and over water between two countries — required extensive planning at every level. The Bridge Run had previously been held as a half marathon in this format twice before, in 2000 and 2010, each time under new and different conditions.
70,000 people were transported in traffic on and around the bridge, in addition to regular Sunday traffic. At times, waiting and transport times were long for the runners, and the warm, sunny weather increased the physical challenge. Despite this, everyone who wanted to start — and was able to finish — did so. They were supported by more than 1,500 volunteers and a large, enthusiastic crowd gathered at the finish line in Sibbarp, Malmö.
