The Route - The Bridge Run 2025

Broloppet - ruten

Boundaries are meant to be broken, and that is exactly what the participants did when they took part in Broloppet 2025.

The start area at Øresundsparken in Tårnby, Denmark, was just a few minutes’ walk from the Femøren metro station. Here, there were toilets and the possibility to drop off baggage. During the race, participants crossed the border between Denmark and Sweden before running across the finish line on the outskirts of Malmö. It became a celebration for all the senses from start to finish.

The route

It is easy to find 21.097 kilometres of asphalt to run on. But the asphalt that awaited the participants at Broloppet 2025 was special. The participants experienced a journey along a fantastic and completely unique route.

Normally, the tunnel, Pepparholmen and the bridge are completely closed to pedestrians. However, on 15 June 2025, this connection was opened for a few hours exclusively for Broloppet runners.

The start in Denmark

The start of Broloppet took place at Øresundsparken in Tårnby, Denmark. From here, participants ran towards the motorway, down the on-ramp and into the tunnel. The first stretch was approximately 3.2 km long. The journey through the tunnel was 4 km, and the lowest point the participants passed was 21 metres below sea level.

Across the Øresund Bridge

After the tunnel, participants continued for 4 km on the artificial island of Pepparholmen before reaching the highlight of the race – the Øresund Bridge.

Here, participants could enjoy 8 km of spectacular views – whether looking to the right, left, up or straight ahead.

At the highest point of the bridge, participants were 57 metres above sea level. There was an incline of approximately 2% from Pepparholmen up to the high bridge, but then it sloped down as they ran towards Sweden.

Towards the finish in Sweden

After the bridge, participants reached Sweden, and there were approximately 2 km left to the finish area in Sibbarp. There awaited the finish line, the medal, the beach, nice hangout areas and their baggage.
