Facts about the Øresund Region 

The Øresund Region consists of Region Zealand, the Capital Region of Denmark, and Region Skåne. 

The region has approximately 4.2 million inhabitants. 

The Øresund Region is the largest labor market in the Nordic countries, with around 2 million employed individuals. 

A total of approximately 18,700 people commuted between Denmark and Sweden in 2022. 

Around 17,500 people commuted from Sweden to Denmark. 

Around 1,200 people commuted from Denmark to Sweden. 

There is a shortage of labor in Denmark within certain industries, while there is high unemployment in Skåne. 

The Øresund Bridge's goal for a more integrated labor market is 30,000 commuters by 2030.
