The Toll Station

The Øresund Bridge toll station is located at Lernacken, just outside Malmö on the Swedish side of the Øresund. With ten lanes in each direction, thousands of vehicles pass through every day.

The toll station has dynamic signage that continuously adjusts to reflect the traffic. Almost all customers smoothly pass the toll station without stopping, using their license plate as the payment method. However, if assistance is needed, Øresund Bridge customer assistants are available around the clock to help. Through screens, cameras, and microphones, they can also assist customers remotely from the nearby building. Read more about the different types of tracks here.

The proportion of green passages on the connection is calculated using a match between the toll station's smart license plate recognition technology and vehicle registers in Sweden and Denmark.

The toll station is part of the Lernacken Operations Center. In addition to administrative buildings with office spaces, it also houses the Øresund Bridge traffic monitoring center. The operations center is responsible for staffing the toll station and monitoring traffic and technical systems.
