Network statement

In accordance with Directive 2012/34/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 November 2012 establishing a single European railway area, as well as the Railway Act (2004:519), Øresundsbro Konsortiet publishes a description of the railway section which Øresundsbro Konsortiet manages.

The network statement shall provide those that intend to apply for infrastructure capacity or operate rail services on Øresundsbro Konsortiet's rail network with basic information about the requirements for doing so. The network statement contains information about, among other things:

• Principles and criteria for running traffic, obtaining a licence, safety certificate, track access agreement, etc.

• Infrastructure capabilities, i.e. crossings, gauge, loading gauge, axle load, incline, electrification, speed, communication systems, etc.

• Rules regarding application for infrastructure capacity as well as principles and criteria for allocation of capacity

• Charging system, including charges for certain specific services.

Because the railway does not constitute a technical and commercial whole but is an integrated part of the Danish and Swedish national rail systems, an agreement was reached in 2000 between Øresundsbro Konsortiet and Banedanmark, and between Øresundsbro Konsortiet and the Swedish Transport Administration which includes the coordination and delegation of tasks. In order to obtain a comprehensive view, Øresundsbro Konsortiet’s network statement should be read together with Banedanmark's and the Swedish Transport Administration’s network statements.
