    Studies and reports

How can the Øresund Link be future-proofed? What is the capacity for increased traffic on the bridge? Here are the latest studies commissioned by the Øresundsbro Konsortiet.

Study: The Capacity of the Øresund Bridge

With over 20 years of a fixed link in the Øresund Region and the upcoming Fehmarn Belt Link in 2029, questions arise: What is the current capacity of the bridge, and what will it be in the future? What investment needs are required to accommodate the traffic from the Fehmarn Belt?

The Øresundsbro Konsortiet has therefore commissioned an external capacity study from Afry. The purpose of the study is to assess current bottlenecks and the future capacity situation, providing Øresundsbro Konsortiet with a foundation for future strategic planning, both internally and in collaboration with other stakeholders.

Study: The Potential of the Existing Øresund Link

Øresundsbron has commissioned SWECO to conduct a study on the capacity and redundancy of the existing connection.

The report concludes that decisions made on both sides are correct and represent important measures to fully utilize the capacity of the Øresund Bridge. It also demonstrates that it is possible to further increase capacity and establish some redundancy within the existing corridor between Sweden and Denmark.

The report outlines how the Øresund Bridge can be future-proofed until 2100.
